VERT design offers regular building tours of green homes under construction.

Whether you are thinking of undertaking a small renovation or planning the construction of a new home, building green is better for you, better for your bank account, and better for our environment. Finding a balance between project goals and available resources is challenging in any building project.

Vert Design's principal and associates will help aspiring green home owners to start thinking about how their renovation or new construction project can contribute to community wide sustainability goals, both immediately and into the future. A range of green building options that are readily available in the Ottawa Region will be outlined using illustrated examples. The merits of each green component, system or approach used in the project will be reviewed in the context in which they have been applied by the firm. A question period will allow discussion to be directed toward the unique interests of participants and the conditions of prospective projects.

Tours are open to all and are provided without obligation in the interest of improving public understanding of green building practices. Please note that tours occur on active construction sites and will occur regardless of weather conditions. Please dress accordingly.
